The basics of me are simple. I am an American, born in Minnesota and currently residing in North Carolina. My heart, however, belongs to Toronto. My hockey experience is limited to a single season when I was a child. I quickly learned that my best role was that of a fan — and later a writer. As a fan, I spent my childhood obsessed with the city of Toronto and all teams from there, and I caught no end of hell from school kids for being “Canadian".

Karine Haines
Karine is a writer based in Montreal, Canada who specializes in hockey. She writes for various alternative media: HockeyBuzz, Full Press Hockey, and The Hockey Writers. Karine covers the Montreal Canadiens and LPHF Montreal with dedication. She’s both played and watched hockey from the age of five years old and has a keen eye for detail which allows her to provide both insight and analysis.
